THE CHALLENGE
Empowerment Group, a Philadelphia based non-profit organization that promotes entrepreneurial development, faced rapid growth and quickly outgrew their static informational websites that were difficult to maintain and update with fresh information.
EG sought to build an enterprise class web application and content manage system (CMS) that gives non-technical users (EG employees) the ability to add or remove site pages and edit content utilizing a simple user interface while accomplishing a number of additional objectives:
- EASE OF USE - Site administrators can easily modify and maintain site, send newsletters, update calendars, etc...
- LOCALIZATION - The site supports localized content, ie, administrators can add content in multiple languages.
- VERSATILITY - A wide range of additional functionality was planned for the first release and the solution must be scalable to support future additions and functionality.
